The Molinari Quartet is very proud to have won the Opus prize for the Concert of the year – modern, contemporary music for its concert Tribute to R. Murray Schafer that was held on October 15 2021. The prize was awarded at Opus Prize Gala held by the Conseil québécois de la musique on February 5 at Bourgie Hall in Montreal.

The concert was a very moving event for the Molinaris because R. Murray Schafer , who passed away in August 2021, has been associated with the Quartet since its very first concert in 1997. The Molinari Quartet has performed all of Schafer’s 13 quartets, among which five were writing for them. The numerous meetings with the composer have always been great moments of happiness, sharing and complicity

He will have left his mark on the international concert scene. We will continue to be ambassadors of his great music.
