The Molinari Quartet pursues its collaboration with the Compagnie de danse Virginie Brunelle in the spectacular show "Les corps avalés".

The dancers and musicians will perform at the Pratt & Whitney Canada hall in Longueuil for this show presented by Théâtre de la Ville.

Critics are unanimous to underline the emotion and virtuosity of the dancers and the moving choreography by Virginie Brunelle sustained by the live music of the Molinari Quartet.

The Molinari plays works by Philip Glass, Henryk Górecki, Dimitri Shostakovich and Samuel Barber among others.

Dialogue on the Plateau : Transparency

In preparation to the concert Transparency of February 17 at the Conservatoire, the musicians of the Molinari Quartet invite you to come and dialogue with them on the works to be heard during that concert. During this free workshop, the musicians and composer Brian Cherney will discuss the works, play excerpts and analyse the quartets to enable the public to have a better listening experience and understanding of the works. They will also answer questions regarding the quartets, instrumental practice and the work of musicians.

Musical theatre LES FABLES DE LA FONTAINE

This musical theatre is a presentation of the Conseil des arts de Montréal en tournée and of the Molinari Quartet in collaboration with Mrs Catherine Perrin, at the harpsichord and narration. Eleven fables will be recited by Catherine Perrin and illustrated with musics by Denis Gougeon for harpsichord and string quartet and by Jean-Philippe Rameau for harpsichord. The first part of the concert will have the Molinari Quartet perform Samuel Barber’s Quartet op.11 (with the celebrated Adagio) followed by the fables in the second part.

As part of the «Ensemble en résidence» series of the  Montreal Conservatory,  the Molinari Quartet presents three string quartets by American minimalist composer Philip Glass.

March 24 is also the day of the release of the Molinari Quartet and Vincent Boilard's (associate oboe solo of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, new CD.

Entitled «Lumières nordiques» (Nordic Lights), this recording under the ATMA Classic label presents four quintets for string quartet and oboe by Canadian composers Brian Cherney, Stewart Grant, Michael Parker and Elizabeth Raum.

On this occasion, the musicians will play excerpts of the quintets by Cherney and Grant before performing the Glass quartets.
