The latest CD of the Molinari Quartet has just been released under the ATMA Classique label. The double CD comprises the complete string quartets and the String Trio by Italian composer Giacinto Scelsi (1905-1988).

To our knowledge, this recording by the Molinari Quartet is the only one since the Arditti Quartet 1991 release of the cycle.

Scelsi’s string quartets offer a magical journey through new sonorities, colours and textures in the string quartet writing. All the quartets except the first, are based no longer on melody but on timbre, which deploys its full richness in the string instruments..

The CD is available in stores as well as on all streaming platforms.
