Philip Glass string quartets and CD lauching

As part of the «Ensemble en résidence» series of the  Montreal Conservatory,  the Molinari Quartet presents three string quartets by American minimalist composer Philip Glass.

March 24 is also the day of the release of the Molinari Quartet and Vincent Boilard’s (associate oboe solo of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra, new CD.

Entitled «Lumières nordiques» (Nordic Lights), this recording under the ATMA Classic label presents four quintets for string quartet and oboe by Canadian composers Brian Cherney, Stewart Grant, Michael Parker and Elizabeth Raum.

On this occasion, the musicians will play excerpts of the quintets by Cherney and Grant before performing the Glass quartets.
