The Molinari Quartet has been informed yesterday May 28 2025 of the sick leave of violist Frédéric Lambert.

As a consequence, it is with deep sadness that the Molinari Quartet must cancel its 3 concerts of the complete cycle of Dimitri Shostakovich string quartets that were to be held on May 29, 30 and 31, 2025 at the Montreal Conservatory. The Quartet will explore the possibility to do the event in an upcoming season.

At the end of the concerts, we were to announce the departure of Frédéric Lambert from the Quartet after 18 seasons. He wished to finish the season with us before that the Quartet would make the announcement. We thank him for his commitment to the Quartet and wish him a fast recovery and success in his future projects.

We are actively looking for a new violist and will announce the name of our new musician at the beginning of the new season.
