Celebrations: 30th Season

The first concert in the Molinari Quartet’s «Twentieth and Beyond» series will take place on Friday 11 December at 7.30 pm in the concert hall of the Montreal Conservatoire. Entitled ‘Celebrations: 30th Season’, this concert will mark the Quartet’s 30th season with works by leading composers drawn from its discography.

The musicians will perform R. Murray Schafer’s 12th string quartet in tribute to the patron Phyllis Lambert, who commissioned the work and who will celebrate her 100th birthday in January 2027; Sofia Gubaidulina’s highly impressive 4th string quartet with its play of light; Alfred Schnittke’s powerful 3rd string quartet; and finally, ‘Figures sonores’, Denis Gougeon’s new work, which premiered at the Salle Bourgie in October.
