    During this Dialogue, the musicians will analyse and play excerpts from works by Shostakovich, Bartók and Boucourechliev in preparation for the concert October 7 concert at the Conservatoire de Montréal.

    The first concert of the season in the Twentieth and Beyond series is entitled Passages and features works from the two most important string quartet cycles written in the 20th century, Bartók and Shostakovich's.

    The Molinari Quartet continues its collaboration with the Guido Molinari Foundation with the presentation of the first concert of the Musique à voir concert series on November 2, 2025 at 3 p.m.
    Surrounded by the works of the exhibition «I am here» by the renowned artist Irene F. Whittome, the musicians will perform works by Dion, Shostakovich and Schafer.

  • Dialogue on the Plateau : Canadian Rhythms

    This Dialogue presents, analyzes, and discusses the works on the program for the December 5 concert of the Vingtième et plus series, which will be held at the Conservatoire de Montréal. In addition to Blair Thompson's new work, you will hear excerpts from R. Murray Schafer's lively 4th Quartet and Kelly-Marie Murphy's dynamic “Dark Energy.”

  • Canadian Rhythms

    “Canadian Rhythms,” features three Canadian works with lively rhythms. From composer Kelly-Marie Murphy, you will hear Dark Energy, a work commissioned as a compulsory piece for the Banff International String Quartet Competition. R. Murray Schafer's Fourth Quartet is a three-movement work whose middle movement is a fireworks display of sixteenth notes. Blair Thompson's first string quartet, «Internesses», will be premiered at this concert.

  • Dialogue on the Plateau

    During this Dialogue, the musicians will perform excerpts of the quartets nos 8 and 9, Suite from Bent and Quartet Satz by Philip Glass. The musicians will also give biographical and historic informations and analyse the works to be played. The public is invited to ask questions to the musicians regarding the works, their interpretation, the preparation work of the musicians before a performance, etc.
