DESCRIPTION:In preparation for its December 14 concert at the Conservatoire\, the Molinari Quartet invites the public to this pre-concert free workshop at the Maison de la culture Plateau-Mont-Royal. \nDuring this event\, the musicians will play excerpts of the works to be performed on December 14th and will analyse and discuss with the public the works.  The audience is invited to ask questions to the musicians regarding the works\, the music and the technics of the instruments as well as the process of working as a string quartet. \nThe event is free! \n  \nProgramme : \nGyörgy Kurtág : Aus der ferne III et V \nLuciano Berio : Notturno \nBéla Bartók : Quartet no. 6

DESCRIPTION:The second concert of the Twentieth and Beyond series by the Molinari Quartet is entitled Notturno. \nNocturnes or night music are presented in different forms; usually they are soft and calm\, but they can also take on a more troubled character. \nThe two short works by Kurtág\, Aus der Ferne\, music from afar\, are delicate\, transparent and breath holding. Luciano Berio’s Notturno brings us into the turmoil but always resolves in calm moments. To close the concert\, the Molinari’s will play Béla Bartók’s last quartet\, No.6. A work of profound solitude and sorrow\, the principal theme heard all through the work is a gentle and sad lullaby. \n  \nProgramme : \nGyörgy Kurtág : Aus der ferne III et V \nLuciano Berio : Notturno \nBéla Bartók : Quartet no. 6
