Concert intime : En toute liberté!

En toute liberté! features two works that use the controlled aleatory technique. Even though all the notes and rhythms are precisely marked, Boucourechliev and Joachim’s quartets give the musicians a certain freedom. These works are unique because they are always a little different at each performance.

Other than the Quatuor III by André Boucourechliev and Quatuor (1997) by Otto Joachim, the Molinari Quartet will perform Kelly-Marie Murphy’s energetic Oblique Light. With a special thought for R. Murray Schafer, who passed away in August 2021, the musicians will end the concert with his 13th quartet, Alzheimer’s Masterpiece.
